Saturday: Music, Protests, Fundamentalists, More Music, and Oak Street

The "New Democracy Rising" March on the 2nd anniversary on the start of Dear Leader Bush II's Iraq war was a good event. Much smaller than the Inauguration Day "Jazz Funeral for Democracy", but was much less publicized. Only some 300 - 400 people, I think, but a nice group of people, good march, good band, good speakers.

Yes, actually.

The town of South Park suffers a hippie infestation, which rapidly turns into a full-blown hippie jamfest. At first the characters are attracted to the hippie promise of making a better future through music, until they realize that the only the hippies want to do is listen to music and smoke pot.

I took a water bottle offered, and held it up towards the sky and asked Jesus to chill it for me. As no miracle occured, I shrugged and told them he had his chance, but I wouldn't be converting to their religion today.

That's beautiful, man.

I think that quote is a riot! This past Mardi Gras, I briefly 'converted' to Hare Krishna by marching and street dancing with a group of them for about 15 minutes. For the rest of the week, each time I encountered a Fundie, I explained that they had missed their chance and I was no longer available for conversion.
