Quote of the day

Feb 09, 2005 05:31

From a friend pouring me my first traditional Mardi Gras morning oj & champagne cocktail as we watch dudes debark from an out of state car that has just gotten one of the last free parking places on the Marigny street:

"You can always tell the out-of-towners in this city. They're wearin' clean clothes."

That champagne-and-OJ cocktail is called a mimosa, and it's quite good. :9 Yum!

"Post some pics"? Go for it!

I'll probably start posting some of mine within the next day or two. I got at least a few very good ones.

I don't know how the day itself went, but this was one of the lamer Mardi Gras weekends that I've seen.

We could've definitely used some! Due to the early date and the cold weather, there was next to nothing happening in the streets. You literally needed to have a party to go to or you were S.O.L.

If the Krewe of OAK parade the Friday before Mardi Gras looks like fun from the pix I posted, come to that next year. If you can swing that, I'll see what else I can steer you towards.
