I've been fielding media calls all week about my boss's latest study, which shows, among other things, that the levels of brominated flame retardants (used in everything from furniture to cars to computers to buildings) have been doubling in humans nearly every five years. Nobody has yet conclusively shown their effects yet, though they are very suspiciously structurally similar to PCBs, so they've only been banned in Europe and California.
