Sound as a Dollar

My great uncle recalled going downtown and being part of a crowd watching the numbers on a huge chalk-board during the crash of 1929. Thanks to generations of progress, we can be seated comfortably at computers.

And remember BushCo still has almost a year to screw yet more things up.

I'm in two minds over it. A- the us has been manipulating economies and over consuming resources without any actual real growth. B- not fun watching 401k dwindle. which is why the corporations conspired with government to make our retirement funds to depend on corporate success.

anyway...

I'm going for another trip to Japan and by accident (surely i'm not clever enough to plan it) I cashed way more $$ into yen on Jan 2 than I usually would. It's better than if I had waited until next week when I am going, would have been best if I had made the exchange before xmas.

But things are FINE! Why, there's talk of giving all FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS on our taxes to stimulate the economy! When we use it to pay for
less than 10% of our annual insurance premiums! After that, why things are right back to being peachykeen and we can go on paying $5M/minute for the war in Iraq!
Which reminds me:
We need to rewrite Country Joe and the Fish song for our era.
