I recall some 30 years ago the first Maya governor of Yucatan, Francisco Luna Kan, was ejected from the train to Mexico City-- reportedly they couldn't believe an indio could be anyone important. Would have been nice to see

Haven't been to Cancun; been to Cozumel when my cruise ship docked there. Plan to keep it that way myself.

I dunno. Google news still has reports of it happening going around, and I can't find anything either confirming or denying it on The Guardian, where this one supposedly originated.
