I'm looking forward to Apocalypto. I hope Netflix will have Chac, but I may end up having to buy that one instead of renting from Netflix. I believe Amazon has the DVD for sale. There are some other things I want to get there, so we'll see what we can do.
I saw "Passion of the Christ" and that was pretty gory. Seeing two hours of Jesus getting beat up is not my idea of entertainment.

BTW, I found out that the original script for Deja Vu was set in San Francisco, but the location was changed to NOLA pre-Katrina as it was cheaper to shoot there.
These pix from Apocalypto confirm my above suspicions about the film creating type of "Maya" style combining elements from different locations and centuries. Rather cool looking none the less.
Also I've been informed that the last major Hollywood attempt to do a pre-Columbian Mesoamerican setting was the 1963 Yul Brenner film Kings of the Sun, which apparently got cheesy results and has deservedly been largely forgotten. Going only on publicity shots, "Apocalypto" certainly seems much better looking.
