American Creole

"American Creole: New Orleans Reunion" is airing nationwide on PBS tonight. It was first shown last week here in New Orleans. It follows New Orleans musician Papa Don Vappie, his family, and musical colleages, making the best of life in post-Katrina New Orleans.

I wish I'd known about this. We just got cable at the house.

Phil Woods once pointed out the same thing to me about music edits. He'd played some sort of "tribute to the American Songbook" thing that aired on PBS, and they cut out the bridge on Take The A Train. Apparently the Great American Attention Span is now too short for a complete performance of a Great American Song.
