I'm not a Christian, so occasionally for kicks I will offer holiday greetings from the pagan festivals which birthed the modern holidays.

The mid-February festival was once Lupercalia, a Roman celebration of fertility complete with human sacrifice, flagellation, and fire. Huzzah!

I could go back further, and talk about Februa, which gives us the name February, but that was basically Roman Lent, and that's boring.
