...but the fact that these supposed journalists are now vying for her coveted front seat in the White House Briefing room just goes to show how shallow they are.  No wonder Americans are turning elsewhere for news...

It always jars me that your news presenters get to voice their opinions so obviously. The news presenters here are always neutral, and not even that opinionated on the more talky shows (like breakfast news TV).

Maybe it's because the British are less high-strung in general.

Well, the reason for that is people have misinterpreted the spirit of the free speech rights that we have over here. There are limits to that speech, such as one can't yell fire in a crowded theater (because of the obvious danger to public safety) and one can't incite others to violence (which is what many right-wing commentators are doing these days by using inflammatory rhetoric to frenzy up the crazies. Dr. George Tiller was killed because for many years, he'd been referred to by the right as "Tiller the Baby Killer by FOX News commentators). But the problem is, no one does anything about it, like it's acceptable to make some crazy person believe that the government is out to get them and then they act all surprised when right-wing militia groups are rounded up for conspiring to kill police officers or we have people shooting and killing doctors who provide abortion and making threats to government officials over new policies that are designed to help people ( ... )
