Actually, what sunk the tv version was SyFy's stupidity. The audience numbers were pretty good, but they weren't the "right" numbers the channel wanted. It was doing very well with women, but not good enough with young men 18-24 so it was cancelled. I liked it a lot. I hadn't read the books at that point so didn't have a comparison. I still like the books though.

That too, I guess. Never looked at the numbers. (Though I'm not surprised; that's the same thing that happened to Young Justice, Motorcity, Tron Uprising, etc in the past year or so.) Even while it was still on, though, I remember cringing at the crime scenes. They were just so bad, as if the team figured that they were making up all the wizardry anyway so they could make up anything they wanted with how Murphy's job worked also.
