SQUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paul is coming to Chicago TARDIS in 2 weeks. I suspect he's going to have hordes more fangirls (and boys) than he thought he'd have prior to today. The fact that the Moff made Eight AND ALL HIS BFA COMPANIONS irrefutably and forever canon today is just the best birthday pressie ever!!!

Lol, I bet! And I bet there'll be a massive surge in people obtaining the BFAs, too.

CANON COMPANIONS YAY.<333

I have this mix of incredible joy (I gibberished at our roommate) and this odd wondering of

what did I just see

Would he have done what he did so fast?

BUT REGENERATION

AND MCGANN WHICH I'VE BEEN SCREAMING FOR

what do?!

It was really fast, yeah. But he didn't have any time left (which I'm calling shenanigans on, actually -- why didn't he regenerate directly after the crash? Why did the Sisters have to "bring him back" in the first place?) and was at the end of a very long rope.

BUT DKSFJ MCGANN I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D SEE HIM AS THE DOCTOR AGAIN :')

"What if I get bored? ...Bring me knitting!"

If the internet doesn't explode with pictures of Eight knitting, I shall be disappoint.

I was really happy to see Paul McGann as the Doctor again, and so very nostalgic about the Big Finish radio series. On the other hand, that choice was really ooc and the ending sucked.

I'm also still angry that only ten and eleven are coming back for the 50 year anniversary. That is not acceptable. *sigh*

I don't know nearly enough about his Big Finish continuity to judge; but the Doctor becoming the last Time Lord soldier and winning the Time War by destroying both the Daleks and his own people has always bothered me intensely. What seemed to be the dealbreaker here was that he had four minutes to live and a chance to influence his next regeneration's strengths, and that no matter how he tried, he felt he'd never again be able to walk out into the universe and introduce himself and be trusted as a good person. (One wonders what happened to those of his Big Finish companions who are currently still alive. ;;)

Yeah, it's really not. But I thought Eight wasn't coming back, so I'm hoping there's still a surprise or two in store.
