The good: Neil Gaiman will write for Doctor Who in 2010.

The sad: Ian Carmichael died. :( Am forthwith droppin' all my final 'g's by way of commemoratin' the fellow. Requiescat in pace. The mildly annoyin': Google keeps redirectin' me to a shady advertisin' search-engine. Wot ( Read more... )

Neil writing for Dr Who = worst kept secret in Whodom. But this is a godo thing.

Am bummed out about Ian Carmichael though. Damn. (My mom's going to be crushed.)

Try googling the search engine -- usually one of the help sites will tell you how to remove it. You might need to download Hijack This to find the file etc.

Can't wait to see the help_haiti art, no matter whose it is!

Indeed. :D

Yeah. I haven't seen Petherbridge yet, so he's still my definitive Wimsey (and how did I not know he voiced Rat in that Wind in the Willows film, AWWW~).

Tried; the only thread that had any answers said "reinstall Firefox". *frownyface* Will work it out somehow.

Hee. I can't wait either. ^___^

Bah. Good thing. Not godo. Sheesh. LOL Still thrilled to bits that Neil is writing for the show, or at least that it's been officially confirmed. It's been pretty obvious for some time that it was happening.

I've only seen the Carmichael Wimsey's and loved them, and I've always thought he was a great actor in general.

Ugh about the redirecting. Usually there's some kind of malware that's making things wonky. I've found Malwarebytes usually finds and kills that sort of thing pretty well, even if the scan tends to take forever.

I am ridiculously excited to see what you came up with for me. Clearly I have no life. ;)

Yep. It was one of those things that HAD to happen. If there hadn't been a Neil Gaiman, the universe would've invented one, and if he somehow wasn't on tap to write for DW, that could be managed as well. ^___^

*nods* Sometimes I wished he'd had a chance to play Wimsey when he was younger, but he really carried it off even in his later years. I've only seen him in that, I think, but really want to see him as Wooster as well.

I scanned and found nothing, but it stopped by itself in a few days.... odd business. o__O

*insert cryptic emoticon of cryptic smugness*~

Re: Neil Gaiman- I wonder if any of the Endless will show up. :p

Ah, google redirection. :| IDK how to stop that from happening- maybe check your settings?

If some pale goth shows up, I'll laugh.

I've got no idea. D:

Ooo Neil Gaiman 8D I need to read more of his books. The two I read were awesome \o

And.... I don't know who Ian Carmichael is >_>

Whichever ones those were, you are undoubtedly correct. \o7

He played Lord Peter Wimsey in a bunch of television adaptions of books by Dorothy Sayers. The only clip I can find contains mostly angst (and Paul Darrow).

Hahaaa I need to read more! And respond to comments in a more timely manner! I have no idea what books Dorothy Sayer has written nor turned into television thingies. Time for google /o/

Ugh. The redirecting's doing me too. Tell me if you find out how to stop it. I shall as well.

...or we could hit Google over the head with a shovel....

It stopped after a day or two without any action on my part... maybe Google blocked a security hole or somethin'.

..yeah, that might work. A snow shovel. :D

I really hope this episode doesn't go the way of the Stephen Fry episode in series 2. *crosses fingers*

Ian Carmichael died. :( I don't think I've ever seen the Lord Peter Wimsey adaptations; I remember him best in the film School for Scoundrels.

..there was a Stephen Fry episode in series 2? o__O

Most of his Youtube clips are from that -- I'd never heard of it. Reportedly he played Bertie Wooster too -- I was all "how are there no clips of those shows out there? HOW?"

There was meant to be, I believe. But it didn't happen and we got Fear Her as a hasty replacement.

Did he really? Hugh Laurie will always be Bertie Wooster to me, but I'd still love to see that!

Aah. *facepalm* Fear Her had that brilliant moment when the TARDIS materializes with its door mashed up against a wall, but it also had that mind-meld thing that I've never been sure what to think about.

Yep! I still have to see both, but will doubtless find both brilliant.~
