The form is a bit involved, yes. But I find I'm grateful for it when it comes time to write. Did you end up signing up?

I did. I really agonized over which things to pick. And for all the details of the form, I'm also kinda disappointed that there isn't much "what don't you want to WRITE."

I'm terrified I'm going to be asked to write some fluffy, schmoopy, romantic, Sheppard/McKay, River/Simon, incest, mpreg, SGA/Firefly crossover horror show from HELL.

LOL! But you see--the rule is you only have to use two fandoms from their list, one prompt from their list, and can't write anything they veto. And you can take your prompts from anywhere--the thematic prompts at the beginning, the pairing prompts (all of which have to be writable as gen as well as romance), or the scenario prompts. So there should be no situation in which you're forced to write something you don't want to write. Because even if you hate all of their pairings and scenario prompts, there's still the themes. Unless you really hate writing gen or something, because they can request gen-only.

There's also nowhere on the form to request pairings within the same fandom like McKay/Sheppard, so that shouldn't even come up.

So, when I filled out the form, I probably cheated -- in a few cases I put "pairings" of more than two people. Maybe they'll be thrown out, I dunno. I suspect I'm not the only one to do this.

There's also nothing to stop someone for putting up a scenario prompt like "Sheppard cheats on McKay when he sleeps with $person from $other-show and you must write the waaangst that comes after it!"

But, yeah, I have no problems writing gen, so maybe I'll survive it.
