I'm talking about those people in my class who KNOWS they're cheating and KNOWS it's wrong and are just lying to themselves with their good marks.
If you know that they're doing this, too, why don't you tell someone, like a teacher? People like that will usually just keep on going like that because no one speaks up and forces them to stop and they figure what the hell, no one's complaining. Or is there no way to prove it/are they your friends/some other reason?
I can't prove it (hey, if they can cheat so well, they might as well study with that kind of smarts). They hide it too well, and also, people like me are considered as selfish and snobby. ^^; (I still yell out "I would NEVER ever cheat, though, because it takes advantage of others" in front of them, though)
But I personally think the teachers are turning a blind eye on it- In the national exams, I've gotten over 9.5 out of 10 for all the lessons I KNOW I'm horrible at (Religious Studies, for example) because the school modified it. They're not doing anything about it.
... I guess Indonesia changed a lot since I left it five years ago. -_- I'm sure people didn't cheat this much five years ago.
That really sucks. I've always preferred honestly failing a test or something if I wasn't prepared than passing by cheating--even if it didn't affect anyone else and stuff. What sucks even worse is times like these you kinda look around and think that maybe stuff like honor codes have become completely outdated or something...
Yeah. It's the same thing with my parents. They don't care whether I get horrible marks, as long as I "know I'm smart" and did it fairly.
Most parents here, and even the government, pressure the students too much. If you don't pass one aspect of the lesson, you don't pass the subject. If you don't pass three subjects, you don't move up a grade. If you don't graduate, it's more costs for the parents, who are mostly not as rich as mine.
With a huge population, the competition is tough, and only the ones on the top can go forward.

The kind of people who gets better marks than honest, even hardworking ones. The ones who takes advantage of others' effort.
WORD. I've had people in my Chemistry Honors/AP class who did that. The person who had the best grades was the individual who cheated most efficiently.
I wouldn't mind them as much if they didn't disadvantage truthful ones who do things fairly. It's just like: you work hard, only to have those corrupt government officials get richer and richer while you end up living in the street.
Er, I'm not familiar with the Indonesian political environment, but I guess I could understand what you mean. The US government sets the tax bar higher for the rest of the nation, and then it cancels the tax of the wealthiest 1% of our citizens. :(
The Indonesian political system: Government officials get paid, government officials take money from "funds" for the poor, the poor gets poorer, the rich gets richer.
That's pretty much it. D:

There's this one kid in my grade who has had an average of all A's ever since kindergarten or something. He's also an idiot and copies off of his friend's papers to get the grade.
I doubt he's getting such good grades now, since we've started high school.
Sux for him, dunnit?
I don't really know about Indonesia, but I happen to know a heckuvva lot about America. As I kinda live in America.
There are a lot of homeless people here... but nobody cares about them, really. Nobody wants to help.
Nobody cares about Africa, either. It's a pretty big place to overlook, and yet, we do it anyway.
We're really stupid. And I don't think that humanity is going to change until something really bad happens to it.
Huge groups of humanity are stupid in themselves.
I think we should split these huge groups up or something so we're NOT so stupid, or, just maybe, rebel. Against the government. Or something. Make a strong middle class.

Funnily, the cheating only increases in high school in here. xP Because they get more pressured to go into a good college, and when back in primary school cheating is "wrong" and not "right", it sorta became "okay" by junior high. -_-

I think the homeless people here would've been just fine if the fund for them didn't get mostly corrupted.
