Wait, does that mean you usually CAN hear my voice? Even in the smut? (Test this second person theory- did you read the 2nd person Susan one?)
Authorial voice in this is funny. It's not mine but I can't imitate God and PterryGod either. I'm not sure that I'm entirely happy with it, or with the characterisation of Crowley.
But I *am* very pleased with the Miracle thing. I wasn't planning on it, it just happened when I thought "well what does Aziraphale smell like..." And I don't think Aziraphale *meant* to do that to Crowley. It just takes a fair bit of Miracle to physically move a demon upstairs...
Oh, I remember which one you said it about. I just thought from your emphatic appreciation of this one that perhaps my voice was plaguing you every time you read something I'd written.
Joke so noted. Keep in mind that even I don't love Piers. I'm just doing this because I care about the manuscript *grimace* But, um, don't tell my colleagues that, you know? I need them to think I care about Piers. Well, maybe I've come to care a little. It's alliterative, like my beloved Pearl-Poet's stuff. I'll make a concession.
I'm not sure how ANYONE loves Piers, but Lolo certainly does, so it must be possible. I think I could maybe care about it, under the right circumstances, but caring is different from liking...
I was amused that it was first printed by a Mr Crowley, though.
I've never thought to connect Robert's 1550 endeavor with our Crowley simply because he wouldn't have the patience to produce such a fiddly thing. I'm sure Aziraphale had a hand in it coming to fruition, however...
Aziraphale would love Piers... not only for the content, but for the whole bloody complicated manuscript transmission. I have this fabulous image of Aziraphale getting Lolo drunk and making him talk for hours about A-C text recensions...
Ha! That was FANTASTIC. I love how you've conceptualised blesses and curses, it added such an intriguing dimension to an already very clever fic.
And props for doing second person in fanfic the way it should be done. It is nicely engaging, and it's obvious that we are still seeing things from the character's point of view, rather than having someone dictate what the reader should feel. A lot of GO fic I've read tends to go for imitating the style of Gaiman and Pratchett, but you've made something clever and funny, that works in their universe and extends on their concepts, but uses a different voice, which is reaaly nice.
And Aziraphale's views on music piracy? Brilliant. I love that mental image.
:D Glad you liked! I thought I was insufferably clever for the blessings/curses thing, myself :D
Glad you liked the second person. I'm not quite happy with the voice of it- I guess I'd need to write in the fandom some more? At the moment it seems to be a weird smoosh of Actual Crowley, irisbleufic's Crowley, and something random from the back of my head.
Some second-persons read like Choose Your Own Adventures, which we don't want. I guess this is supposed to be closer to an internal monologue? I tried out second-person on a Susan Pevensie fic recently to good effect, and it seemed to suit Crowley as well :)
Oh brilliant! This is how second person should be done. Also, wonderful idea idea with the blessings and curses - so much fic may as well be written about any human characters, it's so fresh to see something exploring the differences.

Heh, the whole "sexless angel" bit gets sidelined in the interests of porn far, far too often. One of my pet greivances with G.O. fandom, that is.
