Your options are

1. sign up with open ID - you'll automatically get an invite at the end of the month

2. wait until the 30th, when open beta begins, and open an account

or

3. bleg for an invite - someone on your flist might have one spare.

I must warn you, the standard icon limit on dw is six, same as LJ. It's just that they have VERY LOW paid account fees and you get 75 icons for said price.
