Got to wondering about this the other day and I'm trying to get a sense of a sort of average to put in perspective to my own experience. Ultimately I have no idea what difference it will make but I still would like to know...

-3 hours on a cruise ship.

-5 months in an online relationship... though it was only about 3 minutes after when met in the real world that things started heating up.

shortest - a few hours after meeting them, though we knew each other online about 3 months beforehand

longest - 5 years, she pretended all that time not to be interested too :S

fwiw, i prefer to wait. but not 5 years.
