•Repeat for the second and third fandom. These three fandoms must all be distinct and different (no variants of the same fandom, even though AO3 might have separate tags for them).

Does this mean that I can't offer for LOTR - All Media Types and LOTR - JRR Tolkien, even though I'm willing and capable to write for both book and movie? What about LOTR, Silmarillion and The Hobbit?

We apologize if this is unclear! The next bullet point in those instructions says If you'd like to offer more than three fandoms, press the button that says "Add another offer? (Up to 8 allowed.)" If you'd like to offer a different variant of one of your first three fandoms (for example, "all media types" in any specific fandom), you can do it in one of these optional offers.

(For example, it's absolutely fine to offer LOTR-JRR Tolkien, Lost, Sense8, and LOTR-All Media Types. It's also fine to offer LOTR-JRR Tolkien, The Hobbit-All Media Types, The Silmarillion, and LOTR-All ( ... )
