A/N: entangled_now gave me the prompt "stealth tactics, shirt buttons". Thanks! ... although I seem to have turned it into something über- ( Read more... )

*g* Thank you. I realised very belatedly when writing this that I am a TOTAL Sandra/Bennet shipper.

Yeah, I am, too. Which doesn't stop me from slashing Bennet with everyone under the sun.

Oh this is just adorable, and your Sandra voice is perfect! Also, I'm not sure Bennet is capable of being mundane, there are hidden layers under the shirt buttons.

Thank you! Glad you liked, and thanks for the prompts!

There's always a hidden layer with Bennet. He's the personification of "it's always more complicated" ;)

Oh, this pinpoints them so beautifully. I love your Sandra. It all rings so very true - the last line especially. So glad you're getting out of your block!

Thank you! I'm so pleased to be getting out of my block! XD

Glad you liked this. I really enjoy writing Sandra; she's got a voice I can hear unusually clearly in my head.

Ohhhh, Noah...sewing buttons. That's just about the cutest thing ever.

He shrugs, and turns what wants to be an awkward, embarrassed gesture into something smooth and self-deprecating, a transformation that's becoming easier with practice

Very nice...showing him growing up, for a lack of a better term.

And other people's buttons don't come loose during a very different sort of scuffle in the office afterwards, blinds drawn and wolfish, clever smiles silenced by the reckless aftermath of an epinephrine high

Huh. Whatever could that mean?

"Well, buttons can be very important-" and at her fond smile, he finds himself hoping that he doesn't sound like the dullest man on earth.

The sad/adorable thing is, even if he did sound like the dullest man on earth, I think Sandra would still help him sew on his buttons.

Anyway, I obviously liked this. Very much.

... you have the strangest kinks ;)

Say what you like about Primatech, but it helped him shed most of his remaining nerdiness. (Of course, there's an inner, core nerdiness that will be with him forever ... ;)

Since this conversation is rated G, I have no idea what you're alluding to.

The sad/adorable thing is, even if he did sound like the dullest man on earth, I think Sandra would still help him sew on his buttons.

I know! And I think she's very proud of him, even if he is a big anally retentive nerd sometimes. I admit, I chickened out of trying to put that across here, because I was getting so tired and couldn't find the words.

Thanks for reading! And I'm glad you liked it :)

In the interest of full disclosure: when I was in kindergarten, one of the craft activities was sewing colorful buttons onto scraps of pretty cloth, and I would just go and do it over and over again. As a result, we have like 300 squares of material with little buttons on it. So, I have a thing for buttons.

As well it should...I was watching that part of Company Man last night when he's talking about being "comfortable with morally grey" and he's just got the goofiest, most naive smile ever when he says that. I honestly wouldn't have taken him seriously if he'd said that.

Why is this converstiong rated G? Why must you stifle my creative impulses?

Hee! You totally have button-kink! Lifelong!

I know! XD Adorable.

Au contraire - think of it as a challenge to be filthy whilst appearing morally wholesome ;o)

I think it's just such an obvious part of her character that we see/hear it anyway. Or at least I did.

Oh good. Although now and again I run into this problem of "actually I'd quite like my fic to be readable and have transparent characterisation even for people who haven't seen the show" ... this might be an unreasonable demand, though.

I'm on such a Bennet kick lately...a delicate condition which c_quinn totally took advantage of...

Oh, me too ... and why, what'd she do to/with you? O.O
