I really like this fic. I like the feeling it evokes - something young and optimistic and of rising and falling and learning from it (I'm not sure how to describe it). I like how you seemed to put Shishido and Atobe against each other and how neatly fits together.

A double-bass, Shishido guesses, and he notes that of the string quartet, the viola is missing.
Only part that jarred me - I just want to point out that if you know how to play the violin, it's a very small step to move on to the viola. Very, very small. So Atobe would know how to play the viola? (it wouldn't take long to move on to it - people normally have greater difficulty with switching between cello and violin, I've heard.)

Thanks man! <3

Oh, actually, about that: the point I was trying to get across wasn't the fact that Atobe didn't know how to play the viola. This isn't meant to be offensive to anyone, especially not you if you know how to play the violin/viola and the rest, but a couple of people I've spoken to have said that most people don't choose to play the viola or they don't play the viola because of the lack of solo performances written for the instrument itself. I just wanted to sort of further emphasise the kind of person Atobe has been brought up to be, and the kind of man that his family and others expect him to be.

Oh I see! But even fewer people play the double bass, I thought - and I've only ever heard one classical double-bass solo, so I guess I lost that point. :s But it's a wonderful detail all the same! :)

You're absolutely right with regards to the double bass, but I just added it in because 1) people who play it are cool hurhur :3 and 2) it made not having the viola there stand out more.

But it's a wonderful detail all the same! :)
Thanks! And I guess it's kinda my fault for not making it clearer? Idk but thanks all the same <3
