I loved the Sakura and Sasuke parallels here. Their lives have diverged so much (dark/light, future/past) and yet they somehow have that strange connection that makes them, in some ways, similar. I particularly liked the course of the story: examining them apart, looking at their parallels, and then all leading up to the meeting in which we see they still have a connection face-to-face, too.

But mostly, it makes him think of himself, and how Orochimaru pretends not to seethe when he isn't ready to draw cold blood, how Kabuto finds him staring at his scrubbed but ohsostained hands, how he's left Konoha far behind him, but he can't quite take the next step.

I actually really love their parts apart. You've got Sakura's determination down, and her feelings for him, but also Sasuke's uncertainty about his feelings, which he can't seem to leave behind.

Thanks man, I'm glad you didn't find the whole thing completely disjointed (which is exactly how I feel.) I think this really is how they are, and they need to get past denial before they can move on.
