My house smells like tree!!!

We actually had to saw the base, make it narrower, since it wouldn't fit in the stand!! Of course, we don't have a garage, and we'd already gotten it up the stairs.... so we just sawed it down in the living room...

Many people don't know that you are supposed to cut the bottom off the trunk just before you put it in the stand with water. The pitch seals the initial cut and recutting it helps it drink and last longer. So they tell me. :)

Heh, I actually *did* know, that.. we just never seem to do it! But this time the damn thing was too wide to fit in the stand. That really should have alerted me to the fact that my tree is really a bit larger than it sould be....
