I've spent the past three hours reading about saving the the Artic and espically the Polar-Bears.

Must save the artic-
Must sleep-
Must save polar bears-
Must sleep-
Must join radical orginizations-
Must sleep-
Must read more about how to save nature-
Must sleep-
Must help save the wild-
Must crawl into bed....
Must sleep-

Must try tomorrow.

Though admittedly, all polar bears are mortal and will thus die anyway. It makes sense to oppose their extinction on the grounds that diverse ecosystems are important because we depend on them for various things and should thus not be disturbed by removing links and that polar bears, as beings capable of feeling pain, should be saved cruel deaths (say by drowning) when possible. It seems like a lot of people oppose extinction because they feel it's wrong without ever really establishing why. It makes sense to at least understand the situation and your ethics so you don't just blunder around mindlessly ( ... )

I agree with Katherine, it's easy to hate humans because of all of the bad things that they do. But it's a one sided way of looking at it, just as they are capable of horrible things, they are also capable of wonderful beautiful things. It's unfair to say that people as a whole are either bad or good, they are more complex than that. To simplify them to good or evil is to remove all meaning from your understanding of them. They are neither ( ... )

By asking when was the last time that you did something kind for the earth, I meant something as little and simple as gardening, or even just sitting on the ground on a nice day (which you did on friday). If more people just sat on the ground for the gods sake- then they'd feel more connected to Earth, and thus hopefully try to take better care of her (that's what I hope for anyways- not sure how much of that is realistic).

I also know that railing on uncaring people will get nothing accomplished. It will take something far more civilized than that.

Overall:
It's something to work on.
It's something to work for.
It's something to work towards.
