hee! I thought it would make sense - that the aging Admiral, never very good at parenting, would reach out to his one-time daughter-in-law, and that Dee might take it on out of love and duty (and maybe because she might have wanted kids with Lee...?) *arches eyebrows*

Yay!! So glad it pleased. :0)

Rory might be anywhere from twelve to sixteen, I think - but definitely an angsty teenager. :0) What a burden it must be, growing up the granddaughter of the Old Man, and child of two dead war heroes!

I love this. Dee as keeper of the history and memory. And left to raise the children. So very Irulan. An excellent portrait of a much maligned character. Lovely. : )
