[bsg fic] Elect

So! This is the fic that ate my brain - the Muse has not allowed me to work on anything else for the last two months. I wanted to write something short, snarky and bantery; instead, this came out dark and angsty and talkier than a Rohmer film. It's still a little rough but I wanted to get it out before the end of the year - call it my own fic ( Read more... )

Oooo, that was a lot of fun -- you drew out your futurefic with great grounding in the material and lovely characterizations!

oh, thank you! Had lots of long, entertaining discussions about the logistics and plausibility of the partition scenario. The characterization was a bit more of a bear to write, especially Kara's voice. glad you enjoyed!

I like how well you've preserved the character interaction while still allowing them their happy ending. I love the way you allow Starbuck to show that she cares and wants things done right without making her typically girly at all.

oh, I'm glad it worked for you! I wanted to see if there was a way to have a wedding scene that wasn't sappy. I mean, Kara was engaged to Zak before, after all - surely there's still some part of her that believes in love and marriage.

This was surprisingly beautiful; the tug-of-war between feelings and duty and the fight to make Starbuck understand was deliciously played.

Extremely well done - and sweet, despite the angst. I've really enjoyed this one! Thank you!

thrilled you like it, because I love your fic so!

It was an interesting journey inside Lee's head, for me - to the casual observer I think the choice would have seemed obvious, but Lee being Lee he had to do a lot of thinking before making his decision. And it doesn't help that the two people he love can't understand his dilemma; I have a (faintly ridiculous) picture in my head of fish watching a drowning man, and wondering why he struggles.
