Also, I'm trying SO HARD not to be bitchy in LIMS communities and speak up my mind. (And even when I do so, I usually comment on something somebody said about someone else's icon. Not mine.) But I really feel a need to comment on this...
the effects on the face and on the shirt don't match I... I'm totally confused by this statement. The effects on the shirt and face DON'T MATCH?! Hmmm... O_O I don't see how's that possible, unless you do one coloring to the face and the other coloring on the shirt. Which no one does, of course. You work on every pic as a whole. If they come out don't matching then it's something about pic itself, not what the person did to it. I don't really understand... Maybe I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, do correct me! Is that what this comment means? I got lots of weird comments in LIMS communities, but this one tops it all. LOL
well on the other hand, i was really surprised to see you get so many negative votes, because i thought yours was one of the strongest of the bunch (thus mod's choice) and i really liked the colouring and the fact it was so bright and vibrant and clear at the same time. it also surprised me, that #4 got SO many negative votes, because even though it is a bit dark, i still think it's quite original and interesting. i really like what that person did with the text (because i use the same effect often too ;P) and the texture (?) used. so once again i can say, that people keep surprising me =)
i really liked the colouring and the fact it was so bright and vibrant and clear at the same time. I spent quite some time after I finished the coloring in fixing it not to look too contrasted and over-saturated, which was bound to happen when performing this type of coloring on this particular picture. Especially the left side of his face that is lighter on the pic, therefore immediately goes too bright when you do a bright coloring on it. So yeah, I did put a lot effort in it, even though it maybe doesn't seem that way on first look. So I thank you.
#4 is a very nice icon. But then again, they ALL are. That's the thing. It's only handful of us left. Less number of icons each week. They're all good. And yet we have to vote two of them off. It's tough. We'll all get negative comments, more and more as less of us stays in the game.
yeah, the colouring looks really like shiny and bright as if he's wearing a metal shirt. and it's really clear at the same time.
yeah, i guess it always gets harder towards the end. lol, but with the idiotic comments, i just got one that tops all else! over at beckinsale_lims, i submitted this icon for challenge #1
