Hi, I am leaving Livejournal for good. I still have my blog (http://blogforclothes.blogspot.com). If you ever feel the need to contact me, don't hesitate (e-mail address is in the blog).
I found your blog through that wacky Entertainment Lawyer dude. I just wanted to say that I TOTALLY agree with your take on the scene with the hotel guest and the, uh, Furry. That scene has freaked me out since childhood! I love how inexplicable it is. GOD, I love Stanley effing Kubrick.
Anyway. Yes. The Shining is my personal favorite horror movie as well, and I even love it so much that I wrote a 23-page paper allll about malevolent Native American Indian spirits in The Overlook back when I was in college -- which meant that I had to watch it over a dozen times. By myself. It was still freaky during each viewing.
OHMIGOD. How about when Halloran is lying in his hotel bed and his *shining* starts to kick in? Remember how his eyes get all huge and terrified? And the weird picture of the lady with the enormous afro? Chills, chills, chills.
Anyway. I'm rambling. I like your blog a whole lot the end.
