While you went on your little vacation, you failed to keep up payment on a few essential things such as the apartment and its utilities. I had to take that out of my own funds to avoid having the property repossessed or anything shut off.

I don't see what there is to talk about. In this line of work you must have seen the steep fees applied to loans agreed upon verbally. I cannot be faulted for adding to that in this case, as you simply neglected to make any kind of pay arrangement at all. Perhaps you will learn a lesson for the next time this way.
