I was going to enter the writing contest, but you have to be a residence of India and have a street address in India. So much for that idea.

It would be nice if LJ would have a contest for all members of LJ and not just people from India, but I guess there are too many of us.

It would certainly be nice to be able to do that. We hope LJ invites us (i.e. Caferati back to run other contests, but that's in their hands, not ours. :)

if I see typos after the entry is posted -- can it be corrected by me.
After all typos in online submissions are quite common.

Can I read the posts of others?

sreejohn5,

Re correcting typos; afraid not. Do please proofread before you submit. Surely the prizes on offer are worth the effort of giving it your best possible shot? :)

And you, with other members of this community, will be able to read the short-listed entries. Once the short list is ready, natch.

I posted an entry to the contest today. But no message has been received from you. Shall I have to post it again?

It could be a problem with your internet connection. Do please try again from a different PC?

Thanks.Just another query I have been trying for quite sometime. I hope this wouldn't be considered as flooding as I have been submiting the same story.Have you any record of a story submission from my account?

An afterthought, can my anti-virus protection/fire wall setting be the cause...

The system would reject identical entries, yes. But since you have been getting a "page cannot be displayed" message, I think it hasn't got into the database. I can't let you know immediately (since I am part of the screening jury, I can't see entries + identifying information), but I will ask our contest admin to check if your LJ username is in the database yet. Perhaps you can also drop her an email at quick.tales AT gmail DOT com?
