While I normally volunteer at the clinic for women and the lgbt center at my school, I am also wearing purple today to honor Spirit Day. I'm also wearing purple to remember the victims and to unite with others who are against anti-gay bullying and stand up for gay rights. And ffs, if people are not a part of the LGBT community they do not have the right to judge that the day is "not a big deal" or whatever. I don't care if you think that supporting Purple Day won't actually help anyone, random straight person, this day isn't about you. People need to seriously stop misjudging how much just knowing there are people who support you when everyone else seems against you can help someone.

Obviously, wearing a purple shirt isn't a panacea. No shit, guise. But sometimes you just have to damn well show your colors.
