So, in the last couple of posts, we've gotten to see a bit of Bertie's family: Aunt Dahlia, Cousin Angela, the errant (and surprisingly aged, at least in Skidmore's illustrations) Wooster twins, and even Uncle George. But so far we have had only a brief glance at the dreaded Aunt Agatha. So let's have a closer look.

Jeeves is so angry in that last shot. You've won man! I get the impression that Bertie's insistence on the cummerbund is not what has upset him, but that the garment itself has sent him to this frothing rage. Also now that I think about it, why wouldn't Aunt Agatha be a fashion plate? Appearances and "what will the neighbors think?!" are so important to her and it's not like she doesn't have a ton of money. She doesn't have a magazine to think of.

Yeah, Jeeves clearly looks upon the existence of the cummerbund as a personal affront!

I'd certainly expect Aunt Agatha to be well-dressed, but I suppose what startles me about this particular image is how youthful her attire looks. Bare shoulders, even!
