Obama is now polling at just shy of his highest point of the year.  Obviously polls are just that, polls, and we'll have to wait and see what the actual election day brings, but this is looking really good.  McCain's only real bump came from Palin, and in retrospect it appears to have been pretty small and very short lived ( Read more... )

I was just reading on CNN that Indiana and Ohio are essentially toss-ups at this point. A Democrat hasn't won Indiana since Kennedy. :)

The only thing that worries me is that the "ace-in-the-hole" has been that polls have been among registered voters - not a big deal in the Midwest, wince you can register on Election Day. But in many states (AZ included) you had to register by yesterday, and I think a lot of last-minute voters would have voted for Obama if they had that choice.

Maricopa county (where I live) has a weird system - you can vote up to a month early. Fewer polling spots, but they're open for thirty days. I'm going on Friday.

McCain's potentially pulling out of Minnesota? That's the first news I've heard of something like that.

FYI, my parents happily took the Obama yard sign. One of the neighbors applauded as we put it out in the yard. So there's hope for the suburbs yet. :)

I will see if I can find where I was reading about McCain pulling out of Minnesota. I think it was something from a campaign staffer talking about if McCain keeps polling as badly as he is in Minnesota that they will abandon operations here.

Very cool about yard sign at your parents. It will be a good counter to the McCain signs :)
