sidra + little j (v. Cusack), touched down in the land of the delta blues in the middle of the pouring rain

It's raining when they land, and little J lights up a cigarette under an awning as soon as he's allowed, cherry glowing bright amongst the gloom.

It's not that they couldn't have just used a PINpoint, but Sidra had insisted, "It's part of the fucking experience, little J, don't you dare ruin this for me," and he had just sighed and bought plane tickets because it was so much easier than trying to argue with a hurricane.

Memphis is a beautiful place even in the wet and dark and they walk the streets a while, actually quiet and a little subdued. At some point little J leans over, protecting his cigarette from the rain, and mutters, "I feel like Cher, or at least like I should do up a pompadour."

Sidra just laughs, "Did you see her last week? She came through headquarters in Manhattan to head to her home planet for a visit."

He just nods, thoughtful a moment. "I did, I was visiting that day. It explains a lot, actually. I always wondered about her."
