Brian Ashcraft, let me do your homework for you, published by Tekanji on the blog Official Shrub. I tried to reproduce all the links and formatting here, but the original source might be gentler on the eyes.

Article here. The content is upsetting, so trigger warning re: discussion of rape. )

Once again that screaming arrogant sense of self entitlement in the male nerd/gamer comes out.
"OMG go away and stop spoiling my fun. Just because these games cater to my every whim and completely ignores your very existence, or denigrates you as nothing more than your obvious existence only to be my personal sex slave, Doesn't mean they're Bad!"

He doesn't get it. He's acting like someone's throwing a hissy fit about the game being sexually explicit.

To bring everyone up to speed, Rapelay allows the player to have his way with the game’s three female characters.

I really don't want to think about what he's like in real life if he's that unaware of a difference between "having one's way with" and rape.

Pretty much. What I dislike the most about Ashcraft's original argument is that he's being critical of ethnocentrism (yay!) but only because he wants to defend that stupid game (eww). Which results in the terrible, terrible move of pulling out the "BUT JAPAN HAS LESS RAPES!!!1" card. He (probably intentionally) misreads the critique being leveled against the game.

Unfortunately, he's probably like a lot of seemingly nice, normal people.

eta: umm, of course, he is right to claim what he did about CNN in his original article. But he was definitely making it seem like all arguments against the game were just like CNN's.
