It's a fabulous book and a brilliant slice of comics history as well. I'm currently using it as a research source for my MLitt dissertation (comparing and contrasting the early US women cartoonists with contemporary women webcomic creators) and I was already a fan.

Mills was a superb storyteller and a fascinating woman. Her own cat, Perri-Purr stars alongside Miss Fury before he became an honoury admiral during WWII (in real life!).

oooh. I am very interested in checking this out - especially as DC, as mentioned at the top, continues to flail and fail and I need a new place to spend my comics budget

I think I've heard the name but knew next to nothing about her. Maybe. But I definitely want to read these now. (And the clothes porn! Cloooothes~.)
