Somehow the thing that really got me was after I explained that I witnessed the dog being thrown out of the car (literally all of the staff at the vet office was looking at me) and they all went "Oh my god!" and most of them came to check on the dog. That's when I really realized that there are people who care.

So glad you were there.

The worst part is I caught myself being ~nice~ in telling them this, being the good cripple, instead of explaining how upsetting and patronizing that behavior is. After two weeks of being in a very bad pain flare (I was screaming yesterday, when my normal response is to shutdown and go non-verbal), confronting the fact that I will always be in pain = ruined my day completely.
so I'm glad for the rant space. x.x

It's atypical trigeminal neuralgia/neuropathy (take yer pick), secondary to a fairly complex reconstructive surgery on my jaws. It has a triggering derogatory nickname that I only bust out to make go away people who get in my face and try to insist it can't be that bad, or that it surely can be cured somehow. Thankfully, there's not many of those...

I understand what you mean about people who try to get into your face - I'm deaf, and I ALWAYS get people apologizing for the fact that I'm deaf... so I just apologize right back to them for the fact that they're hearing. Not exactly the same situation as yours, but I've been deaf my entire life and I function pretty well if I say so.
Some people are dumb, really. There's much better people out there. And you're awesome, I couldn't imagine being in that kind of pain for six years. *hugs*

I JUST SAW THE AVENGERS!!! And it was AWESOME! I was really worried that I'd gotten myself so hyped up by my expectations and the reaction of others that it would fall flat, but it delivered like whoah!
It was REALLY funny, stuff exploded pretty much from the get-go, I liked everyone, including the HULK, of all people, and the team fighting scene was REALLY well done.
The only thing I didn't like was the fridging of one character, who happened to be one of my favorites from one of the other Marvel-flicks.
But other than that? Best 12 € I ever spent and deffo a movie I'll get on DVD.

AND THEY SET UP A TOTAL RAID PARTY DURING THE GROUP FIGHT, IT WAS AWESOME.
And of course somebody died needlessly, it was a Joss Whedon movie. lol

And I totally hoped that [HERE THERE BE SPOILERS]Coulson wasn't dead. I thought that, because there was a medic team already there with them when Fury told Colby that the team she sent doesn't have to come, and because Fury is a big enough son of a bitch, that Coulson was hurt badly, but not yet dead. Until the end I hoped that Fury would go just, "LOL, nope, he's stable and not dead, but you needed the push!". => epic trollface. But I was disappointed.

Yes. He will kill a character you love in almost everything he's ever done.
I thought his Runaways run was terrible too, which was disapointing.
