How do you stem the tide of a forum flooded with flame wars, trolling, and other unpleasantness? Just do what Blizzard is about to do in the official forums for StarCraft II and World of Warcraft: Display posters' real names.

I think this is a really bad idea. It has the potential to convert in-game harrassment and stalking into real life harrassment and stalking.

Apparently someone at Blizzard woke up today and said "We haven't caused enough anxiety attacks lately."

I used to play WoW rather regularly. I raided for a significant part of Wrath of the Lich King, until my subscription ended and I couldn't afford more. I've been semi-jonesing to go back with all the Cataclysm talk, but there's no way I will now.
