I am writing a mermaid AU. I don't even know, guys. I just found this, and saw the amazing art up there, and I was rendered defenseless. I refuse to believe that this is my fault.
My entire knowledge of fishing comes from reading The Old Man and the Sea last year, so technicality is not going to be great. Also, this is set in the time period of The Old Man and the Sea or before then, because for some reason, Eames rowing a boat gets me going.
Eames was about to drop his hooks over the side of his boat under the gray pre-dawn light when he saw a massive fish leap out of the corner of his eye. He whipped his head around in time to catch the tail of a marlin disappearing into the sea.
Eames blinked.
That was a properly massive marlin.
The fish jumped again, and again Eames only caught the tail fin, which was still monstrous. It was not quite a marlin tail, Eames noticed, it was wider then any marlin's of proportional size would be

This is delightful. I'm really lost in the quiet of the environment. As someone who spends some time on sailboats, this whole atmosphere appeals to me. I can't wait to read more!

I apologize for being lame and taking a month to update, but life was happening, and then whenever I would try to write this, only crap would come out, and I didn't want to give anyone crap. I still feel like this is not the best ever, but something needed to be written and posted. So here is an update!
