Arthur and Eames, finally, after so many years of UST, are together, and slowly falling in love (though neither can admit it). So when Arthur (somehow) finds Eames sleeping with someone else and obviously enjoying it, he is furious, humiliated, and most of all, heartbroken. But when he breaks it off with Eames, he is so angry and hurt that he fails to listen to Eames, or notice how strange he is behaving
