Before she met Dom, Mal and Eames were together. They kicked around all over Europe, staying in shitty little hostels and sleeping under the stars. They go without running water and even food some days, but they're happy just to have each other.

Mal never tires of the thrill and unpredictability of it all, but in the end Eames just isn't a man she can envision spending the rest of her life with.
