Tired? Yeah.

Hey, must be a devil between us
or whores in my head
whores at the door
whore in my bed...

We're chained...

Uh! said the man to the lady
Uh! said the lady to the man she adored
and the whores like a choir, Uh! Uh! all night
and Mary aintcha tired?

We're chained...
(Pixies, "Hey")

Head games never again. Too many whores. Not enough sunrises.

For three days they argued whether Love truly conquers all or whether Death is the greatest absolute. It is said that the Walker of Roads listened to them for an hour, then siezed a comely young maid from the crowd of onlookers. He laid his lips upon hers in a kiss the likes of which have shattered mountains; saved and slain empires; humbled gods. Then he held the kiss and held it longer until the girl fell to the ground, suffocated. It is said that the crowd then began to laugh, and that to this day, neither of the debaters has realized that they laugh at him.

She dies despite continuing love.
She loves despite impending death.
Neither conquers? Both do?

Both are equally powerful forces. Love is lord of life, and Death is lord of the after. When you're alive, don't waste your time being dead. If I've learned one thing from constant rejection, it's that nothing is permanent, and time heals all wounds. Don't waste your time being dead inside, because you'll have plenty of time to do that once life leaves you.

"Not... coming?"

"No, dear. I just got off the phone with the Apocalypse, and it turns out she had to change her travel plans at the last minute. She sends her love though."

"But, I have slaughtered millions, desecrated every holy place. My name is a curse to all nations. I shall endure unspeakable torture if all I have done is in vain!"

"Yes dear, I know you had your heart set on this visit. I told her about all your hard work, and she was awfully impressed. She's promised that next time she comes round she'll bring you a lollipop. Won't that be nice?"

Again, I thought this Flora was appropriate in tone. I'm going to keep posting them until everyone laughs as heartily as I do when I read them. Maybe I just have a strange sense of humor, though.
