[Instead of doing a lot of panicking and frantic button mashing, Lucy took the time to consider her options when she woke up somewhere unfamiliar and she's been poking around the Dreamberry to uncover whatever she can information wise on this place, sitting down on a flight of non-descript grey stairs.*

She's tense; obvious in the line of her jaw, ( Read more... )

[If she's calm and collected, Desmond finds himself at the opposite end of the feeling spectrum. He was half paying attention to the several video calls of the new arrivals until she calls. The mere sound of her name makes him plunge for the Dreamberry that rests on his counter as he is making dinner. The phone slides away from him, falling off the counter and the novice swears out loud. When he finally gets his phone, most of her speech is done and all he has left is to look at her face. While she might look calm to others, he easily recognizes the signs of tension and annoyance in her face: the slight frown, the hard lines around her lips. She's using the exact same smile she used when his jokes were falling flat back at the hideout. It's been six months since he's seen her other than in his dreams and now he knows he even missed that annoyed look ( ... )

This place was ridiculous and insane. Really. But she would have to grin and bear it until they were home and moving on with what they needed to be working on and hadn't she perfected that act back at Abstergo? Putting a brave face on things even when she was sick to her stomach had become something of a speciality so she could manage. At least she was free to go outdoors and explore and from the map she'd glanced over, there was plenty to go look at and learn about ( ... )

Desmond nodded once: "I did. And it was his suggestion, actually. I think he wanted me to be worthy of wearing the Hidden Blade?" he shrugged, his right hand unconsciously to touch the inside of his left forearm, where the blade was strapped at all time. Surprisingly, the novice had thought that, once passed the awkwardness of having the same face and the rather bad first impression he gave to the Syrian, Altaïr hadn't been that much of a jerk. Sure, he had been cold and seemingly uncaring most of the time for others, keeping that slightly arrogant air around him, but Desmond remembered well how the man had simply looked calm, collected and thoughtful when he had described his world, when they had all looked at the map produced by the Apple. Though the Assassin had barely inherited the 'Master' title when they met, Desmond had easily seen why the Arabian had become a legend centuries later ( ... )

"That's to be expected. You don't get to lie back and enjoy when you're out there in the real world," she teased lightly but this was incredible, so incredible and she'd definitely need to see him in action - maybe she could record it on the Dreamberry and take some notes down as she did so - because nothing compared to real life training. And while she was thinking about that, she hadn't wanted to voice it but she probably should, just in case. "What about the Bleeding Effect? Did that come into play at all? Has it gotten better or worse here or has it stayed the same?" She knew what she wanted to hear from him; she wanted it to have gotten better or to have at least stayed the same but there was every chance it could have gotten worse which would be a problem ( ... )

"It's fine" he shrugged at first, quickly falling back into that sort of protective tone he used whenever someone from their team would show concern about his mental state. But then Desmond sighed and actually gave a sidelook at the blond, a sheepish smile accompanying it. This was Lucy and he knew all too well that a small explanation wouldn't do ( ... )

She was quiet as he explained and whilst the visions were an expected side effect, it was one of the side effects they would no doubt hope to get rid of in the future but for now, it was one of the more unfortunate side effects and as long as they monitored it, Desmond should be okay. And whilst being told he'd had more visions was something of a worry, the stress of arriving somewhere like this would easily have been a trigger but he'd been here long enough now that he'd hopefully have adjusted to it. He wouldn't even be back in an Animus for a long time now if he'd been here seven months with no way of getting back so in progression via Ezio's memories would grind to a halt. Really, it was a good thing he'd managed to get in training and keep it up on his own ( ... )

"Yeah, I know..." Lucy had made it clear when she had busted him out of Abstergo that the Assassins needed his help, not just his memory. And he was still fine with the idea of fighting for mankind's freewill alongside the Brotherhood and seven months later, that resolve hadn't wavered, even if he had no idea when he'd be able to go back to his world. It had been the main reason why he had kept training even after his ancestors had left this world ( ... )

"I can sort of see it from their standpoint; even when you know what you're doing and you've got the right skills to do it, you can still get hurt. People might see it and try and end up being seriously injured because of it. That and the possibility of theft." People lived here, they had possessions and well, not everywhere was like renaissance Italy with its casual regard to leaving boxing of florins lying out in the open. "Still, there have to be times and places where it's allowed." She'd take her chances anyway if she felt like going for a quick jaunt; she'd just be sure to wear a hoodie and keep the hood up and over her face. Dark clothing, simple and plain, easily mistakable for anyone who happened to be on the city rooftops ( ... )

"Well, it's not exactly allowed there, but the industrial part of the city if often not well guarded. That's where I usually train. Nights are pretty good for that as well, somewhere in between 3AM and 6AM." That was why Desmond always trained right after closing his club: the guards were getting sleepy from their night watch and getting sloppy and lazy. They weren't in the mood to chase what they might think could be a simple shadow and the novice took advantage of that. It still didn't mean that he wasn't wearing his hood up at all time when he was free running ( ... )
