Automaticity can have its down side. I spent some time on Darryl's mac on Monday, and experienced repeat frustration every time I tried to right-click (actually left-click, since I use the mouse with my left hand) or to use the scroll wheel. Now, I know that Mac has other alternatives to these whizz-bang pc short-cuts, but what amazed me is that Darryl didn't know them. No, in truth, it didn't surprise me; I know he's a luddite. He has only one way of performing any given task - via the toolbar menu at the top of the screen
