More electrickery woes

Back on the 1st August I reported on the last failure of our electricity circuit in the house. On that occasion everything blacked out at 8.30 on a Saturday morning. Yesterday the TV and 'puters' blacked out at 7.20 in the evening. Lil went out to the garage to do the usual adjustments to the fuse box - which failed - several times. She even

It is quite possible that you don't need the whole place rewired. The description you give is not completely clear, but what you are experiencing might be the RCD in the consumer unit switching off. If that is the case, it is more likelty that one appliance has a problem, than that the wiring is at fault.

The worst likely case is that one circuit has a problem, for example damp is getting to something, and that the repair is much easier and cheaper than compoletely rewiring the house. Indeed, complete rewiring may not cure the problem.
