Running music.

So I'm making my new high-energy running playlist and I'm in need of new songs to try running to (because I'm totally back on the wagon of losing weight here, and have been for a few months, whoot). So I try googling "running songs" and I get all KINDS of songs I would NEVER run to, including:

I'm Yours -Jason Mraz
Touch My Body - Mariah Carey

My hero is on my walking mix, as is Don't stop believing! It's a powerwalking mix...I hate powerwalking. I need uplifting shit.

But I'm good! Work is...work and it's crazy and I've had so many crazy patients I can't even. As for grad school, I had a moment of existentialness and decided that I'd rather be a nurse than a psychologist. So I'm going to nursing school. taking the classes I need this summer and going next fall because I couldn't be ready by this fall.'

Also, all this losing weight business is trying to take over my life.

Dude - Haha - you're gonna laugh... I used to run to shit like "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed and all things Limp Bizkit. I am so old school. :P

hahahhahaha. me too! oh god. I had to stop because I'd find myself singing to it more than running because i happen to have gone through a hard rock phase of my music-listening...ness.

Oh man... My grade 9 PE teacher would let us bring CDs to class and she'd put music on when we were doing laps for warm ups.

I remember that Much Music's Dance Mix discs had the best running songs ever (but that was ... almost 15 years ago D:). Try looking up Dance Mix '95 and '96. The only song I remember from '95 is Saturday Night (but that's because my mom is holding my CD hostage, dammit!), and from '96 I remember Song 2 by Blur.

Oh shit. hahahaha LOL! Thanks! I'll look it up right now. I vaguely remember my college roommate busting out '95 for our throwback party.

The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, Have Faith in Me by A Day To Remember, Superhero by Chingy, Heartbeat by Scouting for Girls, Ultraviolet by The Stiff Dylans, Affirmation by Savage Garden, 4ever by The Veronicas... cheesy 90's pop stuff by N*Sync and Backstreet Boys... I dunno, I've been in an indie/acoustic music type of mood recently, so I can't think of a lot of upbeat stuff and the ones I have on my laptop are odd ones, like those. o.O

The middle is on my walking mix, lolz. I went through an indie/acoustic stage. So good. :D I'm in a experimental/progressive rock phase at the moment. And rock. And stuff that's a bit weird. Yadda yadda.

I can't listen to 4evr by the Veronicas, why? because it used to be an exboyfriend's ringtone and I can't listen to that entire album without him popping in my mind. Blerg.

How are you doing, btw?

Ah, gutted. I'm lucky that only weird songs remind me of certain guys from my past - like Rose of Sharyn by Killswitch Engage. o.O

Aside from perpetual boredom, I'm doing alright. How 'bout you, any weird patients recently? =P

I think Drumming Song should be on the "FUCK YES" list because it has cadence and you want that when you are running...yeah because your feet can keep rhythm or something.

I used to run to Rock Lobster. Rhythm nation. - Maybe. What about some Me First and the Gimme Gimmes? I will think of more, I swear.

hahahahhaha yeah I decided to keep it after hearing it. Plus I love that damn song. I kinda don't like Janet, so no Rhythm Nation for me. Who sings Rock Lobster? And who in the world are Me First and the Gimme Gimmes?
