Candle Lit Dinner For Two

Dec 10, 2008 17:17

For a while now, Jill had wanted to do something nice for Chris but nothing ever came to mind. She spent a couple hours looking around online and finally an idea caught her eye. A candle lit dinner sounded nice, she owned him a nice dinner. It wasn't like they were dating or anything, just friends that lived together and did almost everything ( Read more... )

Jill had texted him, asking if he was busy that night, and he wasn't. A few texts were exchanged of harmless flirting, and then she asked him how much longer he'd be able to resist temptation for. His battery wasn't really low, he just couldn't be dealing with that - she probably knew it was a lie. Sure, he had feelings for her... very strong feelings. He was just scared of that kind of relationship being formed... and to lose her. No, he would never let that happen... but he could also never be settled until Wesker was destroyed and all those he held dear to him were safe.

After collecting what she requested, he walked up the steps of their apartment, unlocked and opened the door. Something smells goodHe hung his things up, and before pegging them down, also noticed the music playing in the background. He couldn't help but smile. He called out to Valentine, "Jill, I'm back," and he walked on in over to the kitchen, as she had obviously been cooking. And he saw that a table had been set out - set up for a nice candle lit dinner. She' ( ... )

Jill got a little too excited when Chris opened the door and hung his things up. She wanted to know what he thought about everything. He wasn't always clear with what he liked, therefore it was hit and miss when she tried new things. Hopefully he wouldn't mind her going through all of this effort. He was more than worth get going through all of this. With the potholders over her hands, Jill pulled the lasagna out of the oven and placed it on the stove just in hand. She turned to Chris and smiled softly.

"Welcome home," she said as she walked over to him and carefully took the bottle from his hands. She made sure to let her hands run over his briefly before pulling away. "Do you want to clean up before dinner?" Her eyebrow raised up slightly as she waited for his response.

Searching through one of the drawers, Jill looked for the cork remover and grinned when she found it and started to wedge it into the cork.

It took him a little while to respond, because he was still in awe at how amazing she looked and all the effort she had gone to.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll get right to it..." he said, as he rubbed his forehead, turning to tidy up a little.

So, this is what she meant by resisting temptation. For years he held back how he felt about Valentine, and could have probably kept it up if it wasn't for her encouragement lately... which, he didn't really mind, he just didn't want to let his guard down for anything.

Even though he felt that, he appreciated all the effort she had gone to, and he couldn't fault it. As it was wonderful.

"What a welcome it is. You look great, by the way, Valentine."

Jill had to admit that she was rather shocked to see Chris stunned the way he was; hell if she knew she'd get this kind of reaction from him she would have done something like this years ago. She was fully aware that nothing may come from this, but she still had to try.

With the way things were in the past she was thankful to get the break they were having, but she knew it couldn't last for long. Jill wouldn't be able to forgive herself if anything ever happened to him and she wasn't able to tell him how she truly felt.

"Thank you, Redfield.. There aren't any good Italian restaurants around, so I thought I'd turn the place into one." She pulled two wine glasses out from the cupboard and placed them on the table and put the wine bottle down as well.

"Better get in the shower quick. I don't want your food getting cold."
