Desi started school this week. Yes, at two years old. I sat in at her first day, just like I did for Lia,
three times last year. And as I saw her play with the other kids her age, I felt my misgivings go away, and that I made the right decision in putting her in school a year earlier than planned. Even if it's an added expense. Even if everything

I can totally relate to the agonizing-over-the-decision part. After weighing the pros and cons for many weeks, Mike and I also decided to put Rafa in pre-school (3 times a week, 90 minutes per day) at the tender age of 1 year and 8 months! It's a class tailor-made for his age group, so it's a transition class of sorts (e.g., caregivers are allowed to stay in the classroom for a month or so). I'm still observing to see whether Rafa is thriving in the environment, and we're allowed to pull Rafa out after a quarter if we change our mind.
But so far Rafa enjoys school a lot. As I told the teacher after his trial class, "I think Rafa's more than ready for school. I'm the one who isn't." Hehe!
Anyway, congratulations to Desi and to you! :)

Wow, Rafa is in school na! That's right, he's a very bright almost-two-year-old. With Lia I put her in school as late as I could because I was at home lang naman, and we did at home all the things they would do in school, read, play games, sing songs... But if had to go to work everyday, I probably would have put her in school much earlier than 3 years old. Kasi their brains are so receptive to learning, parang their time is wasted staying home and watching Wowowee with their yayas.
So, congratulations to you and Rafa too! We really have to get our kids together soon. :)
