My Tita asked me recently if I ever spanked my kids. I said no. My mom proudly told her my kids are very obedient. I said they generally are and I have no idea why. Dad and I give a talk on parenting in the Marriage Vocation Program of CTK parish, and we say some of these things.

All of these concepts apply to the disciplining of the husband as well. No physical punishment but it gets the job done.
