I just caught the tail end of the last of the US presidential debates and the analysis and polls that followed. I've been following the race on and off the past few weeks. I watched most of the vice presidential debate, live. I was very impressed with Joe Biden and, well, my skin crawls whenever I hear Palin speak. ewww! And yet, I couldn't get

Fortunately, the chances of McCain winning at this point are really, really small. In fact, all the racist and negative ads have had the opposite effect that the McCain campaign wanted: they turned independent and undecided voters towards Obama (which is why the polls are now so strongly in his favor). Happily, the racists seem to be in the minority.
