I just got finished with The Da Vinci Code earlier and I SO want to be able to talk to someone about it, but no one that I can talk to about it freely has read it (at least not to my knowledge). It was such a great book; quite possibly going so far as to say it's the best I've ever read. I look forward to the movie I heard they're filming, but I ( Read more... )

Heh... *winks*

And Earthdance is a rave, a 90's throwback that I don't have the heart to grow out of.

I've read it if you want a discussion. I quite enjoyed the Da Vince Code, but then I read the prequil, Angels and Demons and realized that his writing tends to be rather formulaic. It's brilliant, but both books have the same essential outline. As for the actual material it was quite inspirational, especially in my studies since I'm trying to find myths that have nearly disappeared.

I have to completely agree with this. I did like DaVinci Code a lot more than Angels and Demons, though. Rumor has it that he has another book out and it's completely different... Something to perhaps check out?

Supposedly his other books, which concentrate more on code-breaking (Deception Point and one other) also seem to follow essentially the same story and they don't have the nifty historical interest.

I agree with all the comments so far; though I haven't read any of Brown's other works. But aside from the thrill of wanting to see what the next chapter said, I think that the religious/historical trivia was really intriguing.
